Job Description

We are looking for an impact-driven and people-focused Talent Development Specialist/Talent Management Associate to join our growing team! You will work closely and collaboratively with our HR team, called the People Partnership Team (PPT), and support the design and delivery of firm-wide, talent-first practices including in training, learning and development, performance management, and policy development.

Key Responsibility Areas

  • Support the development of appropriate training and L&D curriculum that leverage existing tools and resources and integrate new and effective ones to help Smarter Gooders advance in their career paths
  • Participate in the design of training programs for associates, managers, and/or leaders by developing, editing, updating, and maintaining training materials and tools, and help identify need for upskilling, re-skilling, or other development efforts
  • Collaborate with PPT to implement management and leadership development initiatives, professional development opportunities, and other firm-wide programs
  • Coordinate schedule of employee orientation, training, and knowledge-sharing sessions; invite and notify participants and internal or external partners; and attend, facilitate, or manage sessions as required
  • Lead the planning and logistics of travel-related professional development opportunities for team members
  • Maintain a calendar of professional development opportunities and a library of resources that team members can access to drive their own learning and knowledge-building
  • Serve as point-of-contact for external training vendors and partners as appropriate
  • Assist in identifying talent or training needs within the company and proactively research solutions, learning methods, curriculum design, and teaching methods that match the company’s talent development needs and align with the company goals and objectives
  • Conduct regular review of talent pool and identify development interventions for key talents
  • Collaborate with managers and other stakeholders to help drive talent management efforts and ensure their timely, consistent, and effective implementation 
  • Support all aspects of performance management, including annual performance reviews and employee-specific assessments, utilizing existing templates and processes and enhancing with better, more effective, and more efficient tools and resources
  • Lend support and offer recommendations for developing or updating talent management policies and procedures to ensure compliance to applicable labor laws and government requirements 
  • Provide support in other areas of PPT’s scope of work or the Client Partnership Team (CPT) operations as may be required

Desired Qualifications

  • Degree in HR, Training, Education, Psychology, Organizational Development, Communication, Business, or related field
  • At least three (3) to five (5) years of experience in Human Resources or related area developing and/or implementing and delivering formal training, learning and development, and organizational development programs in medium to large-scale, blended learning environments
  • Knowledge of instructional design theory and learning principles and familiarity with traditional and modern training methods, tools, and techniques
  • Excellent command of the English language, written and verbal, and ability to present complex information to a variety of audiences
  • Familiarity in fair employment practices and a working knowledge of relevant Philippine labor laws, policies, and regulations are a plus
  • Experience and/or genuine interest in international development, social entrepreneurship, and the nonprofit sector is preferred
  • Solutions-focused, critical and creative thinking, sound decision-making, and keen attention to detail
  • Ability to work independently, manage competing priorities, and remain calm under pressure
  • Agility, excellent organizational ability, and strong interpersonal skills
